Boccaccio Apartments are situated in the historical centre of the charming medieval town of Certaldo. Certaldo is steeped in history and is the birthplace of Boccaccio - one of the 3 major Italian poets and founders of the Italian language (together with Dante and Petrarca). There is also a museum dedicated to Boccaccio and another beautiful museum building which was the old town hall and is now used to celebrate civil weddings. The apartments are located in an ancient Palazzo off the main street that dates back to 14th century.
The palazzo has been renovated to the highest standard and the spaces have been divided into 3 spacious apartments with views from each window. A fourth apartment belonging to the owners has a separate entrance 50 metres up the road to the town hall. All apartments have wooden beam ceilings and terracotta floors and are very spacious. They are all equipped with TV, safe-box and hairdryer.

The guests of the apartments have also access to the beatuiful turret of the palazzo where you can quietly enjoy a glass of wine admiring the amazing views. The old town offers 3 excellent restaurants, 3 bars, a grocery shop and a few museums. Down the hill 'modern Certaldo' is a bustling town with banks, chemist, restaurants, supermarket, a train station and buses.
The Old Town of Certaldo is nearly all pedestrianised and access by car is restricted to residents and permit holders only. You can reach Certaldo Alto (the old part of town) either with a special car permit (the owners of the apartments have 2 car permits for guests) to park in the private courtyard of the palazzo. Or else, there is a public parking outside the old city walls or in alternative a fun way to reach Certaldo is via the funicular- a little train that takes 1 minute and half - which makes it a panoramic and interesting ride up.
