Villa San Galgano is a magnificent building located in the province of Siena. The property was built around the same period as the adjacent Romanesque Church of Montesiepi, and was to become a convent. It is the ideal venue for an intimate blessing in Tuscany (20-40 guests) and offers a unique view over the legendary Abbey of Saint Galgano. The Abbey is exceptionally romantic and a unique site in which to get married in Tuscany. Originally a Cistercian Monastery near Chiusdino, the Abbey’s construction began in 1200 and lasted 6 centuries, when the Abbey’s prosperity shifted from absolute splendor to the stunning, suggestive monument it is today. Set in the heart of Tuscany amid lush rolling hills, the location is as spectacular as it is famous ; it is here that Galgano was said to have penetrated a rock with his sword, thereby performed a miracle.
The Chapel of Montesiepi (also known as the Rotonda Chapel for it’s unusual, round, shape) with original frescoes by Ambrogio Lorenzetti and Saint Galgano’s tomb are next to the Abbey.

The owners have restored the building, respecting the original structure but also in keeping with the expectations of the modern visitor. Tastefully reconstructed according to Tuscan style and atmosphere, Villa San Galgano fits in beautifully within the historic and artistic environment that surrounds it.
Villa San Galgano is laid out over 2 floors and can host up to 12 guests. Additional guests can be accommodated in nearby B&Bs, guesthouses, and farmhouses.
Civil & Religious ceremony
We can organise your civil wedding inside the splendid, roofless Abbey of San Galgano which is within walking distance to Villa San Galgano, of you can choose to be blessed in the garden of the villa. It is also possible to celebrate a Catholic wedding in the church of Montesiepi.

The Chapel of Montesiepi is just behind this property. It is a very famous spot in Italy, and highly frequented by tourists coming to see the Sword in the Stone. The site, history and natural environment make this location especially popular for weddings. We are sure that as guests of this enchanting place you will appreciate its historical and religious background. Should you be interested, you can attend a service which is celebrated in the church every Sunday between 11.00 a.m. and 12:30 pm.
